When creating a piece of jewellery, Jonathon Schweinsberg begins the creative process with a single element – the stone. Sourced from auctions, private collections, local dealers or further afield, be it Indonesia or Thailand, the stone essentially dictates what the piece will be.

Jonathon is inspired by the traditional craftsmanship of vintage fine jewellery; the exceptional attention to detail and innovative processes. His vision is to marry exquisite design with modern ideas using time-honoured manufacturing methods.

The “Schweinsberg Jewellery Company” is an Australian brand strongly rooted in Sydney, Jonathon having learnt the trade in the artisanal area of the Blue Mountains and now based in Sydney’s inner west.  “Sydney is a truly unique city, having such a diverse range of cultures, it is an international city with inspiration from all over the globe - my work reflects this.” Each piece is as unique as each stone, each client acquiring a truly exceptional handmade piece, that will be treasured for generations to come.

Alongside the classic collection, Jonathon stocks a range of stones and curated selection of antique inspired pieces. He offers a bespoke service for engagement rings and special occasion pieces. In constant collaboration with the client, he ensures the design is as personal and special as the occasion it celebrates. Similarly with restoration work, Jonathon brings to life clients treasured pieces that require resizing, repairing or redesigning. He is able to incorporate stones and metal from numerous pieces into something new, or bring life to family heirlooms while preserving the sentiment of the original design.

A qualified manufacturing jeweller, diamond grader and member of the gold and silversmiths guild of Australia, each piece is hallmarked with Jonathon’s unique stamp and the guilds year mark. Having experience creating jewellery in some of Sydney’s most well regarded houses, Jonathon is passionate about handmade jewellery and now creates pieces using only handmade techniques.
